A joyous day as we remember Christ's sacrifice for us and His rising from the tomb. We began our Easter weekend with Mommy taking Carter to an egg-dye event at our church Saturday morning. Carter's friend Jonas was there also and the 2 of them had a blast dyeing and decorating about 2 dozen eggs. We took home 12 for breakfast Sunday. We made our Easter nests Saturday evening with grass from the yard and some wildflowers that Mommy found. This is a family tradition brought over to Texas by our German ancestors who settled in the Quihi area (near San Antonio). Saturday night the Easter bunny came and dropped off some goodies for the boys. Carter found in his nest a small Legos set; a Hotwheels coloring book; a fun glitter cup; a Hotwheels car in an egg; and a paddleball along with candy-filled eggs. Hayden received a pail and shovel for the backyard; a stuffed bunny, and lots of candy and eggs. They also got a wagon that Daddy has been wanting them to have for awhile. We went to church for Easter services and an egg hunt this morning. Carter got only the blue eggs. We went for a wagon ride this afternoon once the sun came out. I think the boys greatly enjoyed their Easter as did we. Hope all who read my blog had a blessed Easter also.
