Beautiful Blogger Award

My friend Chrissy tagged me on this and it sounded fun. You are supposed to list 7 things that people may or may not know about you. I tried to pick 7 things you may not know and find interesting.

1. I got to shake President Clinton's hand~while a junior in highschool he came and spoke to our school. The senior class had to wear dorky green shirts that said, "Los Alamos Welcomes President Clinton" and sit on rosters behind the podium on the football field. A few juniors were picked to fill in the space and I was one of them. kinda neat.

2. Everyone knows I'm a germaphobe, but most don't know I'm not the least bit bothered by dog germs. Don't have any problem with the dog licking the kids' face, their food, etc. I know--weird paradigm.

3. My husband and I have a quirky Saturday night ritual of watching "Deadliest Catch" on channel 27 at 11pm~since we don't get cable, we think it's great we found the reruns of this cable show on regular TV--even if the episides are from 2005!

4. We don't have cable~(as mentioned in the previous post). I can't keep up with the shows that are on regular TV!

5. In another life I'd love to be an archaeologist.

6. I'm extremely possessive of powdered donuts. Recently when there were only 3 left in a bag and my husband reached out for 1, I told him "don't take my powdered donuts!" He hasn't let me forget this.

7. I paint my youngest son's toenails (he's 2) with various colors of nailpolish. It kinda started as a joke between his older brother and myself~I figured no one would see them in the winter time~now he asks for me to paint them. See what happens when you don't have a daughter!

Week with Grammy

We were blessed to have my mom ("Grammy") come stay with us for a week and we had such a good time. We did some shopping, spent a day at the zoo (with Daddy) and went to Build-A-Bear Workshop at Grapevine Mills Mall. We had never been there before and the boys had a great time making their stuffed animals. Carter made a horse he named Colt and Hayden made a puppy named Spot. They are so cute carrying their animals in the crates and feeding them, etc. Grammy got each one a bandana so they could be 'cowboys'. On Thursday when the boys were at MDO, Mom and I got to relax at Starbucks; work out at Curves; and enjoy lunch at a local tearoom. We were sad that Grammy had to return home today, but I'll be seeing her in 3 weeks for her birthday weekend in NM--yea!

New Year, new favorite things

Happy New Year! We hope to get back in the groove of things after an unexpected week of no MDO last week. Ugh! Anyway, I have some new favorite things to share as well as some cute pics of my boys.

Vicks BabyRub--I was introduced to this by a friend (thanks Bonnie!) when Hayden developed a cold at their house over the holidays. It's great because it's non-medicated and safe for babies/kids, but is quite effective at soothing their cold symptoms and making them comfortable. I bought some as soon as I got home!

PediaCare Gentle Vapors--since we only have 1 humidifier, when both boys were sick with colds, we got this device for Carter's room. It really worked to keep his nasal passages clear so he could breathe while sleeping.

Can't forget my new Dyson DC24 All Floors. Love it! Gotta try one to find out for yourself. (thanks for the sale tip, Renae!)
