Matching shirts

I don't often get to buy matching shirts for the boys since their sizes are so far apart, but here's 1 I found at Old Navy.

Halloween

Well, the week of Halloween has begun! This afternoon I did a craft with Carter involving making spiders that race with a little motor inside and tonight we carved pumpkins. Tomorrow is the pumpkin patch and then Boo at the Zoo. Wednesday is a fall festival at our church and Friday (Halloween) we are going to a festival at the church where Carter attends MDO. It's going to be a fun, busy week! I'll post pictures from each event. Also wanted to share that Hayden's burn is getting better and better. We are now on a different course of treatment where we are using only Neosporin and a new bandage. He'll return to the therapist on Friday. Thank you for your prayers!

Firestation Open House

Today was the annual Open House for the Haltom City Fire Department. What a great event it was!! They had numerous firetrucks to climb in, an ambulance, a kids' "safe house", fire hats, treat bags, corn dogs, etc. The most enjoyed events were the water hose game, the ride on the mini-firetruck, and the "jaws of life" demonstration. I had taken Carter to this last year, but this year Heath (& Hayden!) got to come and all 4 of us enjoyed it alot.

Crawling...and standing up!

Hayden is crawling now on his hands and knees, although he still scoots along on his tummy when he gets tired of being on his knees. And this evening Heath found him standing in his crib!! I'll try to get some pictures soon.

I love the fall...

I always say we don't really have seasons here in Texas because they aren't as pronounced as they are in northern New Mexico. However, I do still love it when the temperature turns colder and the air is crisp. Today we have a cold front blowing in and I can feel fall in the air. It might also be because Halloween is just around the corner and with small kids, everything is geared around the next upcoming holiday. The kids have their costumes ready, and they both have new trick-or-treat baskets. Carter wanted a plastic pumpkin at Target and Hayden's is a black and white puppy from PBK. Time for hot drinks, flannel sheets on the bed, and homemakde soup for dinner. Another fun thing I love about the changing of the seasons with kids is getting out their new winter (or summer) clothes that I bought 1 or 2 years ago and have been waiting in the closet. Fortunately all of Carter's clothes passed the "cool" test and are OK to wear, although some outfits left over from last winter have been pronounced "too babyish" and won't be worn again. Alas, he's growing up... Happy Fall!
