A New Mexico Christmas...in Texas!

We stayed here for Christmas this year and had a wonderful time as a little family. We carried over Alison's tradition from New Mexico and set out lumanarias on Christmas Eve. What a beautiful sight! Our Christmas Eve service at church was enjoyable last night. The boys enjoyed staying in today and playing with the new toys that Santa brought. Merry Christmas!!

Cookies, candy, & teacher gifts

We have been busy in this house! Monday we went to a get-together at a MOPS friend's house and the kids decorated cookies. Well, Carter decorated 1 and promptly ate it. I decorated and brought home the rest. Yum!! Tonight I made 2 batches of Peppermint Bark candy--some for teacher gifts, some for friends, and for some for us. (from my new MOPS cookbook!) I'm so proud of my creative teacher gifts this year. Carter has 6 teachers, including Sunday School. I'm glad I thought ahead and I like how my gifts turned out.

Christmas Trees

Carter and I made Christmas trees today from sugar cones. This project is from the book: The ADVENTure of Christmas by Lisa Welchel. Carter really liked helping make the icing, licking the beater, and putting M&M's on the trees. He also got icing in his hair which he thought was extremely funny--boys!!

Christmas Musings

The Christmas Season is upon us. We set up our little tree on the dining table so as to avoid Hayden pulling the ornaments (or the tree) down. We have our Advent wreath out and have hung our stockings. I still have to get Hayden a stocking this year. I helped Carter write a letter to Santa and this is what he wants: more cars (Hotwheels), new bike, new videogame, a Matchbox set, and "fancy" shirts & pants. He thinks Hayden should get baby toys, baby cars, & sippy cups. It is fun watching the Christmas magic in Carter's eyes this season.

Happy Thanksgiving

I finally had time to update my blog. We spent Thanksgiving at Heath's parents' house in Winters, TX. My brother flew in from Santa Barbara, CA & Heath's sister and her boyfriend flew in from Boston to share the holiday with us. Carter had a blast playing with his cousins, watching the men shoot skeet and round up calves, and fly their r/c planes. Hayden got a cold the first night we were there, so he wasn't in a very good mood most of the time. We still got a few smiles out of him though! Now we are back home and into our groove again with MDO, MOPS, and getting ready for Christmas. This time of year is so busy! Happy Hayden
